Privacy Notice

This notice applies to GameQueue, the game discovery service operated by BlocGamers LLC (“BlocGamers,” “we,” or “us”): the GameQueue website, mobile app, and related blocgamers.com pages (together, the “GameQueue Services”).

BlocGamers LLC, based in Denver, Colorado, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. By using the GameQueue Services, you accept the practices described here.

GameQueue includes a friend feature: friends can see your username, friend code, and any games or reason tags you choose to send them. We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings; we do not use third-party tracking cookies.

Personal Information We Collect About You

If you choose not to provide some of this information, or ask us to delete it, some features may no longer be available to you.

What you provide

When you create an account, you provide an email address (directly, or through a sign-in provider such as Google, Apple, Twitch, or Discord), a username, and an age range. You also tell us your gaming preferences, and anything you choose to send us directly, such as feedback or messages. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under California law.

What we collect automatically

We automatically collect analytics about how you use GameQueue, including your swiping activity and how you navigate the app, along with standard device information such as device type, operating system, and browser. If you turn on notifications, we store an identifier for your device so we can send them, and you can turn them off in your device settings. We may verify that you are located in the United States or another country where GameQueue is currently offered. We do not collect or store your payment details.

From other sources

If you sign in with a provider such as Google, Apple, Twitch, or Discord, we receive your email address from them (Apple may provide a private relay email address at your choice). We may also receive limited information from other users, such as when someone sends you a friend request, and from third parties that supply game information such as titles, descriptions, and images.

How We Use Personal Information

We use your information to operate and improve GameQueue: to power your game recommendations, and to use analytics from your swiping activity to improve our AI and design new features for GameQueue. We do not sell your personal information.

When We Disclose Personal Information

We share anonymized, aggregated insights (never personal information) with commercial partners such as game developers, publishers, and studios. Before sharing, we de-identify and aggregate app usage and preference data so it cannot reasonably be linked to you or any other individual. We will not attempt to re-identify this information, and we contractually require partners who receive it not to attempt to re-identify it. We also share information with service providers who help us operate GameQueue, such as hosting, sign-in, subscription billing, and AI providers. We use advertising to support GameQueue, and our advertising partners may receive information to show and measure ads. We share information with other users through features you choose, such as friends and shared links. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or our rights, in a merger or sale (below), or with your consent.

Your Privacy Choices

Update your preferences anytime in the app, or delete your account from the Account page. You can also email contact@blocgamers.com for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it; we may verify your identity first, and we respond within 30 days. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response; we will respond within 45 days. We may need to keep some information to meet a legal obligation or prevent fraud. We will not discriminate against you, such as by denying you access to GameQueue or charging you a different price, for exercising any of these choices.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page in the app, or without installing the app at gamequeue.blocgamers.com/delete-account. Deleting your account is permanent and takes effect immediately. It removes your account and all personal identifying data associated with it, including your profile, preferences, queue, and friend connections. You can also ask us to delete your account and information by emailing contact@blocgamers.com, which we handle within 30 days.

We de-identify and aggregate certain app usage and preference data before using it for analysis. Once de-identified, this information cannot reasonably be linked to you or any other individual, and it may be kept after your account is deleted. Our backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, so a copy of your account information may remain in a backup for a short time, currently up to seven days, before it is permanently removed.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription; that continues to renew until you cancel it separately through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.

Third-Party Services and Websites

GameQueue relies on third-party services to operate, and it links to third-party websites. The privacy practices of those third parties are not governed by this Privacy Notice, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Game information and images come from IGDB; games metadata is provided by IGDB. When we look up games we send IGDB game titles and search terms, not personal information about you. We use third-party providers for cloud hosting, database and sign-in services, email delivery, and artificial intelligence, and these providers process information on our behalf as described above.

If you sign in with Google, Discord, or Twitch, that provider handles your sign-in under its own privacy policy and gives us your email address. Trailers are shown through YouTube, and when you play a trailer YouTube may set its own cookies and collect information under Google’s policies. Store buttons and other outside links take you to third-party websites, such as game stores. We ask you to confirm before you leave GameQueue, and we do not control what those sites do with your information.

Advertisers and Analytics

We use advertising to support GameQueue. Our advertising partners may collect and use information, such as device identifiers, to show and measure ads. We do not currently use personalized advertising. This notice does not apply to the practices of our advertising partners, and you should review their own privacy policies.

Do Not Track

We do not track you across other websites or online services, and we do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

Data Security

We use a variety of technical and organizational measures to protect the security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems and databases is restricted, and we review our practices regularly. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by a breach of our safeguards. You use the GameQueue Services at your own risk, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and devices secure.

Retention of Your Information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the GameQueue Services, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Your information is stored on servers described in International Data Transfers below. When you delete your account, we delete your personal identifying data as described in Account Deletion; backups are kept for up to seven days before being fully overwritten. We may keep de-identified information that cannot be linked to you, and limited information where required by law or to protect against abuse.

Children’s Privacy

If you are under 16 years of age, you may not use or access the GameQueue Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. We ask for your age range when you set up your account. If you tell us you are under 16, we do not allow you to continue, we delete the account and any information we collected, and we may set a short-lived marker on the device to prevent an immediate new sign-up. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16 in any other way, we will take steps to delete it.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account or provided information to GameQueue, please contact us at contact@blocgamers.com and we will delete the account and information.

Merger or Sale

If BlocGamers, or some or all of the assets related to the GameQueue Services, is acquired by or merged with another company, or if we contemplate a change of ownership, we may transfer or assign the information we have collected from users as part of that transaction, including during due diligence. The information would remain subject to this Privacy Notice unless you are notified of a change.

International Data Transfers

GameQueue is operated from the United States and offered in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, and Costa Rica. Your information may be processed and stored in the United States, Canada, or other countries where we or our service providers operate. When we provide information to service providers, we take measures intended to make sure they protect it in line with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.

Changes and Updates to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the GameQueue Services or to the law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or display a prominent notice in the GameQueue app, and we will update the date at the top of this page. Please review this notice periodically. Your continued use of the GameQueue Services after a change means you accept the updated notice.
